Humans are a highly varied race and often do not even consider humans of different cultural groups to be the same species. The less varied races find human diversity staggering and frightening as it is difficult to predict what the human before you is going to turn out to be.
Personality: Humans are the most adaptable and flexible people among the common sentient races. With their relatively short life span, they tend to gravitate to extremes of brash and ambitious behavior.
Physical Description: Humans typically stand between five and six feet tall, with rare individuals being as much as a foot more in either direction. They usually weigh between 100 and 250 pounds, with males tending to be both heavier and taller than females. Skin, hair and eye color vary from ethnic group to ethnic group, but is rarely exclusive in any group.
Relations: Humans run the gamut in relations with other races and even within their own race. They are often seen by other races as too quick to make peace or war, as their limited life spans do not allow for ‘proper’ periods of contemplation.
Alignment: Humans can be of any alignment.
Human Lands: There are a variety of human lands on Auctorus, split primarily between decedents of the Great Empire and other ‘barbarian cultures’
Religion: There are some 100 gods and faiths worshiped by humans on Auctorus.
Language: Humans speak many different languages. The languages of the humans who are the remnants of the Great Empire share a common alphabet however.
Names: Human names and naming conventions vary from culture to culture.
Adventurers: No race is as likely to become adventurers as humans. With their short life spans and fiery ambition, adventure is a quick path to realize greatness or death.
Human Racial Traits:
- Human base speed is 30 feet.
- 1 extra feat at 1st level.
- 4 extra skill points at 1st level and 1 additional skill point for each additional level.
- Favored class: Any.
Human Ethnic Groups
During the time of the Great Empire of Man, many human ethnic groups were conquered by the Empire. Despite all being conquered and having a common language enforced for all government and religious activity, these groups maintained separate cultural identities until well after the fall of the empire. In the centuries since, market exchange and migration have done what imperial policies could not: now the language of the imperials has merged with a mish-mash of local languages into the language known as Common (or sometimes as Imperial Common). The cultural difference between the groups have also faded, leaving council humans to consider themselves a more-or-less unified group at odds with the humans and demihumans outside the group.
Herodric humans live in the great southern archipelago and the god-king worshiping city-states there. They tend to have dark eyes and hair and have olive colored skin.
Husasa are not native to Auctorus itself, but do have contact with the humans who live there. They are taller and leaner than their Auctoran counterparts. They have dark brown hair, skin and eyes.
Kellish humans are only starting to move from tribal communities to larger and more organized towns and cities. They live in the remote areas of west-central Auctorus. Kells have light skin, brown to red hair and blue or green eyes.
These northern barbarians live in the great untracked wilderness of northern Auctorus. They are very fair skinned and usually have blond or red hair and blue eyes.
At the height of the Great Empire, the city Sædia was commissioned to be the home of the Imperial Academy of Arts and Magic, where the culture and learning amassed by the Empire could be honored, celebrated and advanced. For 200 years, the most magically and artistically talented individuals from the empire came to Sædia to live and learn, but Sædia’s greatness did not help it during the fall of the Empire as no city was so completely razed. The decedents of the survivors of Sædia returned to the site of the original city and rebuilt it, beginning the culture known as the Sedec. Sedec have bronze colored skin, and bright green eyes, the color of weathered copper. An inordinately large number of Sedec are psions, sorcerers and wizards.

Height and Weight
The dice roll given in the Height Modifier column determines the character’s extra height beyond the base height. That same number multiplied by the dice roll or quantity given in the Weight Modifier column determines the character’s extra weight beyond the base weight.
